------ Introduction -----
The school intends to offer a large spectrum of advanced state-of-the-art on
emerging technologies for the assessment and conditioning of human movement,
with a particular emphasis on portable/wearable sensors and wireless
technology.
This Summer School is primarily addressed to researchers and professionals
interested in the most recent advances of assistive and rehabilitation
technologies
for the neuro-motor function.

The program will include topics as:
- Neurophysiology and measurement of human movement
- Portable sensors and systems
- Wireless communications
- Biofeedback devices
- Virtual Reality-based systems
- Virtual prototyping
------ General information ------
- School venue: historical buildings in the small town of Monte San Pietro
(http://www.comune.montesanpietro.bo.it/arrivare.htm)
in the hilly outskirts 15 Km far from Bologna.
- Official language: English:
- Max number of participants: 40
------ Requirements to apply ------
- The school is open to technical professionals, advanced undergraduates,
graduate students and post docs with an interest in biomedical engineering,
human movement science, physical and rehabilitation medicine, and related
disciplines.
- Application procedure: Fill the registration form and send a short CV
through the website www.starter-project.com/summerschool.htm,
within 15th April 2006.
------ Registration & accommodation ------
- Registration fee is 700 Euro and includes board, accommodation in double
room, coffee breaks and study material.
- Four studentships provided by the University of Bologna are available.
Students from developing countries and Eastern Europe will be privileged.
- A wide network of farm houses will provide accommodation to all
participants. A shuttle bus will connect the farm houses and the school
venue.
