  • 3D reconstruction from CT data and FE generation software

    Dear Colleagues,

I am a PhD student in bio-mechanics at the Mediterranean university, my
topic is osteoporosis and fracture risk, for this, we work with hospital
team (radiologists) in order to investigate fracture risk parameters and the
contribution of cancellous and compact bone into mechanical response to
    daily solicitations.

In order to develop a 3D finite element model, I am looking for a free
software for 3D reconstruction form CT data. At this time, I am using
slicer2.5.1 (for more information see http://www.slicer.org/) and IMOD
(http://bio3d.colorado.edu/imod/). These software are free and used to
visualise in 3D medical imagery (MRI, CT.), but not performed to create 3D
    FE mesh.

    Thanks for your help.

    Sincerely,
