    ASSOCIATE LECTURER/LECTURER IN HUMAN MOVEMENT

    SCHOOL OF LEISURE AND TOURISM STUDIES


    The School of Leisure and Tourism Studies offers a range of interdisciplinary
    courses in the areas of human movement/sport, leisure, tourism, the arts and
    cultural policy and has an established reputation for industry relevant courses,
    research and consultancy. The School is seeking to employ an associate
    lecturer/lecturer who can teach and contribute to the ongoing development of
    the BA (Human Movement Studies) program; who can contribute to the post-
    graduate program in Sports Studies; who can apply a biomechanical perspective
    to the study of human movement/sport and; who has the capacity and
    motivation to work as part of a team in the multi-disciplinary context of the
    School.

    Essential: Postgraduate qualifications in Human Movement/Sport
    Studies/Physical Education with a focus on the biomechanical aspects of human
    movement. A PhD is desirable at the lecturer level. Demonstrated ability to
    teach Functional Anatomy, Kinesiology, Mechanics of Human Motion and
    Biomechanical Efficiency of Human Movement. Tertiary lecturing experience.
    Knowledge of the wider application of biomechanics to physical activity.
    Experience in the use of motion analysis systems. Computing expertise. Ability
    to work as part of team in teaching research and consultancy. Experience in
    sport and/or dance and/or gymnastics is desirable. The successful applicant will
    also be expected to participate in upgrading the Human Performance Laboratory
    for teaching and base research purposes.

    Appointment may be made at the associate lecturer level where applicants meet
    the essential criteria at a level less than commensurable with a lecturer.

    SALARY RANGE: $28,700 - $38,950 p.a. (associate lecturer); $41,000 -
    $48,688 p.a. (lecturer) Appointment at the lecturer level
    will not be made above the mid-point of the salary range.
    This is a tenurable appointment.

    Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is compulsory for
    new appointees.
