Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) is accepting
applications for a bioengineer in the Movement Science Laboratory. The
Movement Science Lab is equipped with an 8 camera Vicon Motion Capture
System, 2 AMTI Force plates, a 10 channel EMG system, a Biodex
Isokinetic system, a Cosmed K4b2 Portable Gas Exchange system, and a
Novel Emed platform.
Job responsibilities include the following:
* Development of biomechanical models to assess functional movement
tasks, including motion of the upper extremity and spine.
* Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment. Provide
evaluations and recommendations of equipment necessary to perform
research investigations.
* Assist with patient evaluations, including instrumentation of
patients, data analysis and interpretation.
* Engage in the design, execution and analysis of research
investigations involving human movement performance.
* Demonstrate the ability to interact with pre-schoolers, school-age
children and adolescents at developmentally appropriate levels.
Qualified candidates should possess the following:
* Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred, in engineering,
or relevant field.
* Excellent computer skills, particularly in the modeling of human
movement.
* Past experience in patient-related aspects of biomechanical
measurement and analysis.
* Experience with motion capture techniques.
* Preferred experience with motion analysis in a pediatric clinical
setting.
