    1st Announcement and Invitation
First Symposium on Foot & Ankle Biomechanics
Division of Biomechanics and Engineering Design, K.U.Leuven
    Thursday, April 20th 2006, 14.00 – 18.30

One year ago a new chair in foot and ankle biomechanics was inaugurated at
the Division of Biomechanics and Engineering Design of K.U.Leuven. This
chair gave the division the opportunity to start a new line of research. To
share the progress in our research, the division organises its first
symposium on the subject. We invited several distinguished researchers with
an international reputation in this field. They will present state of the
art lectures in their respective disciplines. Researchers of K.U.Leuven will
subsequently give an overview of their current work and preliminary results.

    Faculty:
    - Dr. med., Dr. phil. V. Valderrabano, Orthopädisch-traumatologische
    Abteilung, Universitätsspital Basel, Switzerland
    - Prof. Dr. J. Houck, Ithaca College –Rochester Campus, Rochester, New York,
    USA
    - Prof. Dr. A. Leardini, Movement Analysis Laboratory, Istituti Ortopedici
    Rizzoli, Bologna, Italy
    - Prof. Dr. med. G. Dereymaeker, Div. Biomechanics and Engineering Design,
    K.U.Leuven
    - Dr. med. G. Matricali, Dept. of Orthopaedics, UZ Pellenberg, K.U.Leuven
