Position: Postdoctoral Research Associate: Orthopaedic Biomechanics
Location: University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida

We are seeking a highly motivated individual for a post-doctoral
fellowship at the Biomechanics and Motion Analysis Laboratory in the
Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at the University of
Florida in Gainesville, Florida. The focus of the laboratory is the
biomechanical analysis of human movement and joint biomechanics. Ongoing
research includes joint kinematics and kinetics of knee and shoulder
with osteoarthritis, the development of methods for biomechanical and
optical detection of articular cartilage with OA, the assessment of
articular repair systems, the study of rotational laxity of the knee,
soft tissue balance and their contribution to knee OA.

Requirements of the position include the completion of a PhD in
biomedical engineering or a related field, proficiency in computer
programming (MatLab, C++), excellent communication skills, and research
experience in a field related to the ongoing work of the lab. The
post-doctoral position is for a period of one year and can be renewed
for another year. The position remains open until the appropriate
    candidate is chosen.

The UF Biomechanics and Motion Analysis Lab has a motion lab (70
ftx35ft) equipped with a 11-camera MAC real time motion capture system,
two six-component force plates (AMTI), JR3 six-component load cell,
eight channel Noraxon telemetry EMG system, a Data Translation data
acquisition system. The implant testing lab (40 ftx20 ft) equipped with
one bi-axial MTS system, one uni-axial MTS, and a custom made knee
simulator to test joint contact and wear. The department also has an
arthroscopy and surgical skills lab for education and research purpose.

Interested candidates are kindly requested to send a recent copy of
their curriculum vitae and three letters of reference to:
