Dear All
Is there any simple method to calculate the load on the multiple supports of a beam.
If the beam say 10 units long and is supported by 5 supports equidistant with one at each end and the load is applied at 1/3rd along its length.
Assume a rigid model with no mass.
Does it make any difference if the beam is the tie of a triangular truss with the apex offset to 1/3rd the legth of the base and the load applied at the apex.
Is this a statically indeterminate structure that does not have a simple solution
