Lecturer in Human Biology/Ergonomics (Applied Human Physiology)
Department of Human Sciences
(HU/1845)
£28,009 - £37,643 per annum
The Department of Human Sciences at Loughborough
University brings together research and teaching
activities in human biology, ergonomics and
psychology. This provides a stimulating,
multidisciplinary environment in which to study
how humans develop, perform and cope in different
circumstances and situations, across the full lifespan.
We are seeking to appoint a lecturer, with an
established record of research in a field
relevant to the Department's existing research
interests. Applications will be particularly
welcome from individuals with a research
specialism in: applied human physiology, physical
ergonomics, work physiology, physical work load
assessment, applied biomechanics. A commitment to
interdisciplinary research is desirable, along
with willingness to take advantage of the
disciplinary connections available within the
Department. Our expectations for RAE2008,
reflecting the international standing of our research, are high.
The successful candidate will be expected to
contribute to teaching at undergraduate and
postgraduate levels, teaching human physiology to
an advanced level. The appointee will need to
demonstrate commitment to maintaining the
Department's excellent standards in learning and
teaching: the Department was ranked No 1 for
student satisfaction in the 2005 National Student
Survey (Medical Science and Pharmacy).

Roger Haslam (Head of Department), Telephone +44
