- Salary range: Level A $45,660 - $61,963 p.a. plus 17% superannuation -
minimum starting salary for appointee with a PhD will be $57,724 p.a.

The School of Human Movement and Exercise Science is seeking suitable
candidates to fill a research associate position sponsored by NHMRC grant
(NHMRC – 400937). The purpose of position is to develop training programmes
based upon the Schools previous research, supervise training programmes,
and run the biomechanical and neuromuscular testing of participants. The
applicant for this position will be required to 1) oversee the development
of equipment for the team training programmes, 2) organise participants for
the study in cooperation with the grant chief investigators, 3) organise
and supervise trainers for the teams enrolled in the study, 4) organise and
take part in the biomechanics testing of participants, and 5) organise data
analysis and prepare publications.
The applicant for this position should have a PhD in biomechanics or
equivalent, with experience in motion analysis. Experience in working as a
member of a team and applying training programmes is also essential.
Experience using a Vicon motion analysis system is highly desirable. Good
written and verbal communication skills are also essential. Some assistance
with relocation expenses (if applicable) may be negotiated with the
Director of the project.
The Biomechanics Laboratories in the School are exceptionally well equipped
with 2 Vicon Mx Motion Analysis systems and a 200 Hz Peak Motion Analysis
system, AMTI and Kistler force plates, two multi channel EMG systems, and
ultrasound systems. Software packages used in the group are Vicon Body
Builder, SIMM, SD Fast, Matlab, and C/C++. Mechanical and electronic
technical support staff is available for equipment development.
