1. Position Summary
The Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering is seeking to
appoint an academic staff member in the area of biomechanics. Specific
research areas of interest include modeling and simulation of human
movement; finite-element modeling and analysis applied to joint and soft
tissue (ligament, tendon, and muscle) mechanics; and the application of
biomedical imaging, particularly magnetic resonance imaging and video
fluoroscopy, to the study of dynamic joint motion. State-of-the-art
facilities are available in the Department to support experimental and
computational research in biomechanics. Interest in performing in vivo and
in vitro experiments to support the candidate’s work in computational
biomechanics is highly desirable. The successful applicant is expected to
build an independent and well-funded research program, while at the same
