    Job Opportunity:

    Research Engineer - Lower Limb Prostheses

    A biomedical/rehabilitation engineer is required in the School of
    Kinesiology, Simon Fraser University. Project work is related to
    research and development for the manufacture of prostheses (artificial
    limbs), involving design and specification of components and automated
    manufacturing techniques. The primary responsibilties will be the
    design and development of an automated alignment coupling device for
    below knee prostheses, and assistance with the development of
    computer aided design and manufacture of lower limb shapes.
    Experience in some of the following would be an asset:
    materials, process selection and testing, mechanical design and
    electromechanical prototype development and computer aided design and
    drafting. The term of the appointment is for one year, renewable
    subject to continuing funding. Salary is negotiable, commensurate
    with experience.
