POSITION AVAILABLE:
ORTHOPAEDIC BIOMECHANICS RESEARCH ENGINEER
The Bioengineering Laboratory of the Department of Orthopaedics at
Brown University and Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode
Island has an immediate opening for a research engineer at the
bachelor's or master's level capable of solving clinical &
experimental problems related to orthopaedic biomechanics. The
engineer would be responsible for coordinating laboratory experiments
from the initial design phase to the presentation of the results,
designing instrumentation and techniques necessary for data
acquisition, and assisting in performing clinical evaluations of
patients with musculoskeletal disorders. Other responsibilities
include animal care, training and supervision of engineering
students, medical students, and resident physicians participating in

This position entails working with the lab's diverse group of staff
including research faculty, surgeons, undergraduate and graduate
bioengineering students, medical students and orthopaedic resident
physicians. Experience with animal research protocols, image
processing, computational analysis, and data acquisition are all
highly desirable skills for the Research Engineer.
