    Applications are invited for the following position: (October 2006 starting
    date)



    POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER IN VASCULAR STENT DESIGN



    A postdoctoral researcher is required in the area of intravascular stent
    design. The successful applicant will be involved in the design and testing
    of a novel stent system for use in long and/or curved stenosed arteries, and
    will work within a multidisciplinary environment at the Trinity Centre for
    Bioengineering. The position is funded by Enterprise Ireland under the
    proof-of-concept phase of the commercialization fund. The duration of the
    contract is 15 months.



    Applicants will ideally have a PhD in mechanical or biomedical engineering
    (or equivalent industrial experience), with significant experience in finite
    element modeling. Experience in any of the following areas would also be
    beneficial: mechanical design, large deformation finite element analysis,
    contact analysis, constitutive modeling of soft tissues.



    Salary: ˆ38,233 pa (+ pension contribution)
