RESEARCH OFFICER
Biomechanics (Job Ref: B350)
Location: Cyncoed Campus, Cardiff, Wales, UK
We are seeking a postdoctoral Research Officer to join the Integrated Biomechanics Research and Technical Analysis Laboratory based in the National Indoor Athletics Centre in the School of Sport, Cyncoed Campus, University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC). The appointee, to start in October 2006, will work on a biomechanics project funded by the EPSRC.

You will be actively involved in researching at the interface between coaching and biomechanics and in addition to using video and 3D motion tracking systems will be using novel wireless sensor-based systems for enhancing the training of elite athletes. This exciting 4-year postdoctoral vacancy, funded by the EPSRC, involves a multi-disciplinary consortium. See www.sesame.ucl.ac.uk for details. A background in biomechanics, sports science or similar with a PhD in a relevant subject area, and a strong background in human motion analysis are essential. Experience of working within an elite athlete environment and familiarity with Vicon/Peak, CODA and force plates are desirable.
