    ANNOUNCEMENT OF FACULTY POSITION
    Exercise Science
    Department of Health and Human Performance
    Auburn University

    POSITION: Assistant Professor, Tenure Track.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Exercise Scientist with expertise in Biomechanics, NATABOC certification required. Applicants should show the potential to establish a research program with a cutting-edge research agenda and a national presence in relevant professional societies and have completed doctorate in Biomechanics or related field by time of appointment. Candidate must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the U.S. by the employment date and be able to communicate effectively in English.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities to include, but not exclusive to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Biomechanics, Motor Control, Research Methods and other areas within an Exercise Science program. Additional responsibilities include: (1) recruiting, advising, and training graduate students at both the M.S. and Ph.D. levels, (2) supervising graduate level research, and (3) an interest and a willingness to work collaboratively with other researchers in Motor Control, Biomechanics, and other related fields, (4) seeking and obtaining external grant support, (5) maintaining a national presence in the field through presentations, publications and roles in national, professional societies and (6) supervise a small masters, non-certification, athletic training track.

    STARTING DATE: August 2007

    APPLICATION DEADLINE: Screening of applications will begin October 9, 2006 and will continue until position is filled.

    SALARY: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

    SETTING: Auburn University is centrally located in the southeastern United States in Auburn, Alabama, a city with a population of some 49,000 residents. Auburn’s size is such that it offers numerous advantages to its residents, while at the same time maintaining the character of a college town. Auburn is a land grant, state supported university with 12 academic colleges and schools, 64 departments, and the Graduate School. Enrollment at the University, approximately 23,500 students, is the largest in the State. Excellent recreational and cultural opportunities are available.
