MSc Research Studentship in (Sports) Biomechanics *to start immediately*
    (or as soon as possible)

Applications are invited for a sponsored research studentship in the
Sports Biomechanics Group (School of Health and Human Performance),
Dublin City University, Ireland. The applicant should be highly
motivated and have gained at least:
a 2.1 in Sport Science (or related degree) with an emphasis on
    biomechanics, or
    a 2.1 in bio-engineering (or related degree).

It would be advantageous, but not essential, that the applicant have an
    interest in golf.

The MSc is related to a project being run by Dr Mads Haahr (Department
of Computer Science, Trinity College Dublin) looking into the
development of movement sensing devices for entertainment and sports
    training scenarios.
The biomechanics element of the project is being supervised by Dr Kieran
Moran (Dublin City University), and aims to:
    1. Determine the accuracy of the sensor unit when tracking the movement
    of a golf club
    2. Determine what information from the sensor relates to the performance
determining factors of the golf swing
    3. Determine what information from the sensor relates to the movement
pattern of the golfer (The movement of the golfer will be tracked with
an 8 camera motion analysis system)

Please apply by immediately by e-mail to Dr Kieran Moran at the address
below, including a curriculum vitae giving full details of
qualifications and experience, together with the name of a referee from
your University/College of study. Alternatively, ring Dr Moran directly
