New Products Research Manager, DJO, LLC - Vista, California
DJO is a global medical device company specializing in rehabilitation
and regeneration products for the non-operative orthopedic and spine
markets. We are currently seeking a New Products Research Manager at our
World headquarters in Vista, California.
Responsible for product research with emphasis towards new and existing
product development objectives. Assures adherence to appropriate test
procedures, equipment utilization, data reduction and results reporting.
*Works collaboratively with Doctors to develop and coordinate clinical
evaluation of new and existing products.
*Evaluate research proposals relative to strategic objectives and
business plan.
*Works with Engineering, Regulatory, Sales and Marketing staff to
prepare, implement and manage appropriate testing and analysis to assess
materials, components and products.
*Assures that research tasks are properly documented and reported, and
that appropriate information is effectively disseminated to other
departments and customers as needed. Prepare research program
justification reports with protocol and schedules as needed.
*Performs literature searches in support of product development
programs.
*Provide biomechanical insight to engineering staff in support of
product development.
*Document all work in accordance with established procedures.
*Maintain current awareness of biomechanics, and orthopedic trends and
procedures as they relate to our products. Participate in appropriate
conferences, meetings and symposia as necessary to maintain awareness.
Identify trends and needs in market place as guidance in selection of
development projects.
Experience - Minimum 5 years experience in biomechanics research related
to testing a product development. Experience in orthopedic research
preferred, as is 2 years additional mechanical engineering experience in
medical product development.
Education - Bachelors Degree in Biomechanics or related field.
Preferably Masters Degree in Bioengineering or related field with a
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
