Research Fellow in Bioengineering
Salary scale £24161- £29716pa

In a joint programme between DePuy International (A Johnson and Johnson Company) and the Universities of Leeds and Southampton, applications are invited for a Research Fellow, to be based in Southampton, in the field of orthopaedic biomechanics. Your main focus will be the development a range of finite element based models to assess the performance of total joint replacements and similar devices. Experience of experimental biomechanics would be beneficial, but not essential. You will to work on a range of projects, both short and long term.
You will be expected to pursue excellent research within the university environment and interact closely with company based bioengineers. The successful candidate will be expected to hold a PhD and have relevant research experience. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is an interest in technology transfer between academia and industry.
The fellowship will be initially for a period of 1 year, with extensions for a further 2 years likely.
