Hallo,
Ton van den Bogert ask me to post a follow up of the anwers to my question how to get human bones (skeleton) as .stl files free for publication uses.
Most detailed help I get from Serge VAN SINT JAN, Ph.D. (sintjans@ulb.ac.be) Associate Professor, Marie Curie Fellow
Department of Anatomy (CP 619), Université Libre de Bruxelles, the coordinator of the VAKHUM project.
After VAKHUM they produce a public dataset including a full skeleton:

The stl-files are very detailed. For my illustrations I have used the open source java software ArtOfIllusion (http://www.artofillusion.org) to produce smaller files and the open source raytracing tool povray (http://www.povray.org)to render the pictures.
Many thanks to all of you send me private data and hints about the "ULB Virtual Human" and how to use them.
