The Biomechanics Research group (located in the School of Human Movement and
Exercise Science) at the University of Western Australia is currently
seeking a PhD student to work on 3 ½ year NHMRC funded project. Briefly, the
project is investigating the biomechanical and neuromuscular changes that
occur as the result a training intervention with community level Australian
Rules Football players. As well as biomechanical testing the project will
also use an epidemiological approach to investigate the incidence of injury
in the participant groups.
The successful applicant will have a strong background in biomechanical
testing but must also understand how to use an epidemiological approach to
investigate the effect of a training program.

of the applicant’s suitability you will be asked to apply for and obtain an
