    Faculty Position in Biomedical Engineering

    The Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department at the University of Texas
    at San Antonio invites applications for a tenure-track
    assistant professor position in biomechanics and/or all related fields.
    Required qualifications for the position are a doctorate
    in biomedical engineering and/or closely related areas, with a focus on
    biomechanics, demonstrated ability to establish and conduct
    outstanding fundable research, and promise for excellent teaching.
    Responsibilities include research, teaching at the graduate and
    undergraduate levels, development of new courses, and service to the
    department, college, and University. The successful candidate will be
    expected to start in the fall of 2007 pending budget approval.

    The BME Department is part of a Joint Program in Biomedical Engineering
    between UTSA and the University of Texas Health
    Science Center at San Antonio, located 8 miles away. The joint program
    currently offers Ph.D. degrees and has approval to offer
    M.S. degrees; an undergraduate program is being developed. Current
    areas of biomechanics research in the department include
    orthopaedic biomechanics, neuromuscular biomechanics and bioMEMS.
