Dear subscribers,
I have a friend who owns a company in Italy that makes
chairs. He would like to start designing his products
based on some ergonomic parameters that are supposed
to make the chair more comfortable or better more
healthy for the people who sit on it.
I have been asked to make a small research for him and
I was wondering if some of you could point me in the
right direction, since I have never dealt with such
issues before.
I would like to know what is the best way to collect
data on his chair, if there are already existing
protocols to evaluate the ergonomics of chairs, what
are the methods mostly used to design ergonomic
chairs. I had a look on the internet, but all I could
find is studies related to car seats, which is
actually not what we are exactly looking for.
Any suggestion will be strongly appreciated.
I will post a summary of replies.
