    Title: Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track, Biomechanics, School of Sport and Exercise Science
    Position Number: 99635

    Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate in exercise science or related field by the position starting date of August 20, 2007. Candidate must have a background and expertise in biomechanics.

    Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience at the college/university level is desired.

    Position Description: This is a full-time, nine-month tenure-track appointment in the School of Sport and Exercise Science within the College of Natural and Health Sciences at the University of Northern Colorado. Responsibilities: teach relevant undergraduate and graduate courses (primarily biomechanics and anatomical kinesiology); conduct independent and collaborative research; seek and maintain extramural funding; advise and supervise research of undergraduate and graduate exercise science students; serve on school and university committees; and enhance the school's exercise science program.

    Salary and Benefits: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include health, life, and dental insurance as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Other benefits may be available based on position.

    Review of candidates will begin December 1, 2006 and will continue until the position is filled. Submit letter of application, which addresses specific areas of teaching/research competence, curriculum vitae, academic transcripts (copies are sufficient for application), and the names, with accompanying contact information, of three references. Candidates will be selected based on a comparison of qualifications and school needs. Satisfactory completion of a background check, educational check, and authorization to work in the United States is required after a conditional offer of employment has been made. Original transcripts must be submitted within one (1) month of hire.

    Federal regulations require that the University retain all documents submitted by applicants. Materials will not be returned or copied for applicants.

    The University of Northern Colorado is a Doctoral/Research University enrolling 12,000+ graduate and undergraduate students. The University, founded in 1889, is located in Greeley, Colorado, which has a growing population of 80,000. Greeley is an hour north of Denver and 30 miles east of the Rocky Mountains.
