optical based 2D and 3D motion capture systems and software. Vicon
systems are used in biomechanical research, gait analysis,
rehabilitation, animal science, virtual reality and simulation,
ergonomics, film and TV production and gaming. Our customers range from
high end biomechanical research institutes, universities and hospitals
to leading visual effects houses and games companies.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Installation Engineer to
join our Customer Support team at the Company Headquarters located in
Oxford, UK. This position will suit an individual who is excited about
the opportunity to undertake a high level of international travel to
many parts of the world but excluding North America where we have
resident engineers.
The successful candidate will receive extensive training from the
resident support engineers during an initial office based training
period and then will travel to customer laboratories, research centres
and studios to install and optimize Vicon systems and software. The
Installation Engineer can spend two to three days on-site with new
customers, where the system is set-up alongside customer
representatives, the system is optimized and basic system operation
training is provided to the customer.
This position is an excellent opportunity to gain skill and experience
in the growing fields of motion capture and biomechanics. Vicon Motion
Systems is an established company presently experiencing significant
growth. This will provide the successful candidate with the exciting
possibility of upward mobility as the position is intended to lead to
higher level positions within the support team and company as the
engineer's skill set grows.

* Mechanical or equivalent engineering degree
* Desire and ability to represent the company in a customer facing
role
* Fluency in written and spoken English
* EU citizenship or a valid work permit for work within the EU
* An appetite for significant domestic and international travel
* The ability to work independently and flexibly
* Knowledge of anatomy and or biomechanics would be an asset but
is not essential.
