    POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN MUSCULOSKELETAL BIOMECHANICS

    BONE & JOINT CENTER
    HENRY FORD HOSPITAL

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral fellowship position within the
Bone and Joint Center Research Laboratories at Henry Ford Hospital. The
candidate will be part of a collaborative group of investigators who have
expertise in and facilities for biomechanics, imaging, computational
mechanics, motion analysis, animal models, anatomy, cell biology, histology,
    biochemistry and molecular biology.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering or
a related field. Research experience in musculoskeletal biomechanics is
desired. Individuals whose research experience involves bone, cartilage
and/or intervertebral disc tissue mechanics, or experimental and
computational modeling of joints are especially encouraged. Duties and
responsibilities, under minimal supervision, will include, 1) formulating
the details for new techniques, and troubleshooting experimental problems,
    2) planning and carrying out various experiments that may involve biological
specimens, 3) analyzing and interpreting the data, 4) preparing manuscripts
and abstracts for publication, 5) maintaining accurate and efficient
functioning of instrumentation used for experiments, and 6) supervising
activities of technicians or other laboratory personnel.

The main responsibility of the successful candidate will be within the
biomechanics section, however, he/she will be in close collaboration with
other sections and investigators in the center. It is expected that the
successful candidate is open to change direction and learn new techniques as
necessary. Good oral and written communication skills are required.

Qualifying individuals with enthusiasm in the line of research outlined are
encouraged to submit their CV, contact information for three references and
a one to two-page statement of career goals. Initial inquiries may be via
email, however, full applications will not be considered unless received via
    surface mail.
