Biomechanics Scholarships Available for Fall 2007
Applications for the master's degree specialization in Biomechanics at Barry
University are being accepted for this Fall, and scholarships of up to $5400
per year are available based on undergraduate GPA. Call Barry's Sport and

This specialization within Barry's graduate program in Movement Science
combines both theory and practice that will prepare you for a variety of
career opportunities in Biomechanics in biomechanics, including orthopedics,
coaching, teaching, and movement analysis as it applies to gait, injury
etiology, and sport performance enhancement. Students will also be
well-prepared to pursue doctoral study in movement science.
The Biomechanics Laboratory is located in the Health and Sports Center that
houses both the academic and athletic departments providing potential for
applied research with sport coaches, certified athletic trainers, and
strength and conditioning coaches.
Course work consists of classes in force measurement, electromyography,
videography, biomechanics, qualitative biomechanics, biomechanics of injury,
statistics, and research methodology. A mini-internship as well as a thesis
is also required.
