Two Posts in Rehabilitation Engineering:
Senior Lectureship, Postdoctoral Researcher
Centre for Rehabilitation Engineering, University of Glasgow
http://fesnet.eng.gla.ac.uk/CRE
These two positions are available within the Department of Mechanical
Engineering, associated with the research programme of the Centre for
Rehabilitation Engineering (CRE). The posts have arisen as part of the
recently formed Glasgow Research Partnership in Engineering (GRPE),
funded by the Scottish Funding Council. GRPE includes three new Joint
Research Institutes, one of which is the Institute for the Mechanics of
Materials and Structures and Bioengineering, to which these appointments
are attached.
The CRE, based within the Department of Mechanical Engineering,
collaborates closely with the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries
Unit in Glasgow and with the Bioengineering Unit at Strathclyde
University. The research focus is on the development of novel
engineering technologies for application within spinal cord injury care
and rehabilitation. An overview of current research activities can be
found at http://fesnet.eng.gla.ac.uk/CRE
Senior Lecturer in Rehabilitation Engineering/Bioengineering
The candidate will have a track record of research in rehabilitation
engineering/biomedical engineering/biomechanics in an area that
strengthens or complements current research activities within the CRE.
The candidate will contribute to the development of new cross-faculty
teaching programmes in biomedical engineering and to the teaching of the
core disciplines of Mechanical Engineering.
Research Assistant in Rehabilitation Engineering (5-year appointment)
Candidates should have a PhD in rehabilitation engineering/biomedical
engineering/biomechanics, or in a related discipline, and research
