Electrical/Biomechanical Engineer
The MoCap Consortium of Long Island University is reopening their search for
an enthusiastic, skilled engineer to supervise a new biomechanics
laboratory. The engineer must have a strong background in
electrical/biomechanical engineering with a significant amount of experience
working with force platforms, EMG, and 3-D motion capture equipment in human
subject research. Desired assets for the applicant include: knowledge of
biomechanics measuring systems, experience with signal processing, ability
to learn and work with different software and hardware, ability and desire
to do hands-on mechanical or electrical work, experience in programming
(particularly with LabView and Matlab), and the ability to work toward and
meet deadlines.
This full-time position with benefits is a university support staff
position. Applicants must be US citizens or have a green card. The
salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. This
position requires a capable individual with the ability to work
independently and with a variety of people at all levels both within
and outside of the institution. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and
written communication and organization skills are required.
