Physical Therapist - Motion Analysis Laboratory
Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, has an excellent opportunity for a
professional with advanced training and expertise in physical therapy.
In this position, you'll be responsible for supporting all aspects of
the research and clinical services provided by our Motion Analysis
Laboratory. You'll evaluate instrumentation, develop research protocols,
collect and analyze data, and develop systems and procedures. Additional
responsibilities include project planning and coordination, grant
development, and manuscript preparation.
The Motion Analysis Laboratory is an 8000 square foot facility dedicated
to conducting innovative and integrated basic and translational research
to provide state-of-the-art techniques that support the highest quality
patient care and educate physicians, scientists, and the general public
regarding the neuromusculoskeletal system. The Motion Analysis
Laboratory is equipped with a 10-camera motion capture system, an
electromagnetic motion measurement system, 7 forceplates, fine-wire and
surface EMG recording capabilities, an in-shoe foot pressure measurement
system and strength assessment devices that include an instrumented
dynamometer and a strain-transducer based system as well as
custom-designed upper extremity isometric strength measurement system.
To qualify, you must be a graduate of an accredited physical therapy
program and have 5+ years' experience. Current MN licensure as a
physical therapist is also required. You must be highly self-motivated,
have an interest in teaching and team building, and be skilled in using
high technology for sophisticated research techniques. Strong attention
to detail and superb communication skills are also essential. An
advanced post-professional degree is preferred. Prior experience in a
research setting, gait lab, or clinical practice with neuromuscular and
pediatric patients is highly desirable.
