  • Faculty Position

    University of Washington
    Department of Rehabilitation Medicine

The University of Washington’s Division of Physical Therapy invites
applications for two full-time, 12-month faculty positions, for an
assistant professor or associate professor, rank depending on
qualifications and experience. We are seeking team-oriented
individuals who wish to join an outstanding faculty at this top-ranked
Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. An academic doctoral degree
(PhD, ScD, EdD) is preferred. Candidates must be eligible for physical
therapy licensure in the state of Washington.
The ideal candidates will have research, teaching, and clinical
expertise in motor control, adult neurology, and/or life span
(geriatrics/pediatrics); however, those with expertise in other areas
of physical therapy will be considered. Primary responsibilities
include teaching in the areas of motor control, adult
neurorehabilitation, and life span (geriatrics/pediatrics). Additional
responsibilities relate to the education, supervision, and mentoring of
entry-level DPT students and PhD students in Rehabilitation Science.
Prospective candidates should be developing or have an on-going
research program. There will be substantial opportunities and support
for clinical practice, research efforts, and opportunities for
collaboration within the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, as well
as with the other university departments.
One faculty position is available immediately and is expected to be
filled no later than September 1, 2007. The other position is
anticipated to begin January 1, 2008. The University of Washington is
an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer. The University is
building a culturally diverse faculty and staff and strongly encourages
applications from women, minorities, individuals with disabilities and
covered veterans. Interested candidates should submit a responsive
cover letter, a CV, and names and addresses of four references we may
contact directly. Applications will be considered immediately, but no
    later than March 1, 2007.
