Smith & Nephew is looking for a Research Project Manager in Numerical
Kinematics for its new European Knee research centre which will be based
in Haasrode, near Leuven, Belgium.

The European Marketing organization is based in Herent, Belgium. As part
of Smith & Nephew's Knee Implant strategy, the company will set up a
research laboratory in Belgium (near Leuven). This research lab will
focus on the Kinematics of the Knee. Smith & Nephew is looking for a
research project manager numerical kinematics, who will run and support
this research lab together with a research project manager experimental
kinematics.
Responsibilities:
This position has the responsibility of providing numerical analysis and
support for current and future orthopedic products. Responsibilities
include providing theoretical, numerical and experimental kinetics and
kinematics support for knee products and working with a team of surgeons
on stress-strain and motion analysis of contemporary total knee
replacements. This position will report to the VP marketing recon Europe
and to the Memphis based assigned manager.
Profile:
This position requires a Master of Science or a Ph.D. degree preferred
in an Engineering Science plus minimum four years experience in
engineering. Bioengineering knowledge of knee kinematics is required.
Experience in implicit and explicit finite element analysis is
preferred. Medical Industry experience is preferred. Excellent people
and team working skills are required
