Faculty Position
The University of Michigan, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, is
actively seeking a mechanical/biomechanical or bioengineer to join the
faculty of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. The applicant must
have a Ph.D. in engineering and expertise in biomechanical research.
This is a tenure track position within the Department of Orthopaedic
Surgery with the possibility of a joint appointment in an appropriate
basic science or engineering department. The individual will be expected
to develop independent extramurally funded research as well as
collaborate with both clinical and basic science faculty within the
Department of Orthopaedics. It is also expected that the candidate will
participate in the department’s teaching program. The Orthopaedic
Research Laboratories at the University of Michigan include extensive
facilities for computing and image processing, materials testing, device
and component fabrication, and histologic and molecular analyses. Ideal
candidates should have an excellent track record of peer reviewed
publications and experience in grant proposal writing or funding,
dependent on level of experience. Salary is commensurate with experience
with excellent fringe benefits.
