Graduate student research positions in the area of orthopaedic
mechanobiology and tissue engineering are available in the Department of
Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame.
Research areas include the use of mechanical loading to direct mesenchymal
stem cell differentiation in a cartilage tissue engineering application,
and the study of the biochemical pathways involved in mechanical
load-induced differentiation.
A student with a strong undergraduate or masters level education in
bioengineering or mechanical engineering will be well-prepared for this
research. Qualified applicants must meet the admission requirements of the
Graduate Program, which are detailed at
http://graduateschool.nd.edu/html/admissions/application_gateway.html
Application directly to the graduate college is required.
