Graduate Assistantship in Applied Biomechanics available in Human Performance at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse
Graduate Program in Human Performance
The Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Science - Human Performance is a multidisciplinary program of advanced study designed to prepare graduates for a career in one of the following areas: 1) human performance, 2) strength and conditioning.
Graduate Assistantship (GA) in Biomechanics
The Department of Exercise and Sport Science in collaboration with the Department of Health Professions - Physical Therapy Program is offering a graduate assistantship to provide research and teaching support in Biomechanics. A candidate with a strong interest and some experience in biomechanics is desired. Computer and basic programming skills in MATLAB are a plus. Questions regarding this assistantship should be directed to Tom Kernozek, PhD., Department of Health Professions-Physical Therapy Program at kernozek.thom@uwlax.edu
La Crosse Institute for Movement Science (LIMS) Biomechanics Laboratory
The Laboratory is in the Health Science Center at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The 1,800 square foot research space is equipped with a 6-camera motion analysis system, 3 force platforms, electromagnetic tracking system, pressure measurement systems, and electromyography system. This laboratory serves as teaching and research space for the Physical Therapy program, collaborative teaching and research efforts in Biomechanics in Exercise and Sports Science, and undergraduate education in the Biomedical Concentration in Physics. Further information about the lab and published work is available through our laboratory web page at www.uwlax.edu/pt/research/strzelczyk_clinical_biomechanics.htm
