The Department of Health, Exercise Science, and Recreation Management
at the University of Mississippi invites applications for a full-time
(9-month), tenure track faculty position in Exercise Science at the
Assistant/Associate Professor level. Individuals with training and
experience in basic, applied, clinical or occupational biomechanics
are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications: Qualified applicants should possess (1) a doctorate
in Biomechanics, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related
field, (2) teaching ability and experience in higher education, (3)
an established record of scholarship, and (4) potential to obtain
external funding for scholarly activities. Post doctoral training encouraged.
Responsibilities: The primary role of the position is to add further
critical mass to the dynamic applied biomechanics research program,
driven by the Applied Biomechanics and Ergonomics Laboratory (ABEL),
while contributing to and developing interactions within the
department's teaching and research program in areas such as
neurophysiology, exercise physiology, motor control, and health
promotion. Areas of focused research excellence within the Department
of Health, Exercise Science, and Recreational Management are listed

position include teaching undergraduate and graduate classes in area
of expertise, publishing research in area of specialization, pursuing
external funding, developing resources to provide on-going support
for research activities, and contributing to interdisciplinary

Management offers a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Exercise Science. The
