    RESEARCH ENGINEER POSITION - Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, University of Toronto


    DESCRIPTION: We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with a strong experimental and computational background to work as a research engineer within the Orthopaedic Biomechanics Laboratory at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Sunnybrook is a major teaching hospital fully affiliated with the University of Toronto. The candidate will be able to work well both independently and in a collaborative research environment, and have the ability to manage multiple projects and resources. Previous experience is requested with image analysis, finite element modeling and materials testing systems and sound programming skills. Strong leadership and excellent communication (written and oral) skills are required.



    Responsibilities include: management of lab resources; research and design planning; equipment calibration, maintenance and minor repair; experimental set-up, data collection, reduction, statistical analysis, and reporting assistance; REB submissions; computational support; FEA support; image analysis and database management; manuscript preparation and editing; training and ongoing support for engineering undergraduate and graduate students, orthopaedic residents and fellows.



    QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualifications include a master's degree in bioengineering, biomechanics, mechanical engineering, medical biophysics or a closely related field and relevant experience.

    SALARY: Salary is commensurate with experience. A full benefits package is provided.
