    *ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN MEDICAL IMAGING AND BIOMETROLOGY*

    The Department of Geomatics Engineering and The Centre for
    Bioengineering Research and Education (CBRE) at the University of
    Calgary (http://www.ucalgary.ca/) seek to fill a tenure track position,
    effective *July 1, 2007*, at the Assistant Professor Level. The CBRE is
    a multi-faculty unit located in the Schulich School of Engineering (SSE)
    responsible for promoting biomedical engineering research and teaching
    biomedical engineering courses. The selected candidate is expected to
    provide leadership and vision to the bioengineering core of the
    undergraduate program and further development of related research and
    graduate programs in medical imaging and biometrology. The appointee
    will be affiliated with the Department of Geomatics Engineering and is
    expected to teach both graduate and undergraduate courses in biomedical
    engineering and in other related geomatics engineering courses. Strong
    interpersonal skills are necessary.

    Applicants must hold a PhD and have demonstrated research excellence in
    some of the following areas: photogrammetric techniques; 3D precise
    reconstruction and registration; fusion of biomedical imaging modalities
    (e.g. optical, X-ray, MRI, CT); digital image analysis and feature
    extraction; and their novel application in biomedical engineering. The
    applicant is expected to develop a strong research program and should be
    capable of attracting external funding for these research activities and
    graduate student support. The selected candidate will be required to
    register as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Alberta.

    The Department of Geomatics Engineering is actively involved in all
    aspects of geomatics engineering and comprises 20 faculty members, some
    90 graduate students and 50 students in each year of the undergraduate
    program. State-of-the-art geomatics engineering equipment and computer
