What are the application of Needle Insertion

I am a graduate student, and have just begun to start my research on needle
insertion. Now I am searching for information about its applications, like
surgery in cancer, etc. I sincerely appreciate it if you could provide more
of its applications in science and engineering. Also, resourses of photos,
