    The following position is currently open at Nike WHQ : Advanced Global
    Test Engineer



    As our Advanced Global Test Engineer, you'll plan and conduct
    experimental trials, analyze data, document equipment design and
    operating protocols. You'll develop new test technology and evaluate
    equipment to purchase or design as appropriate and then coordinate the
    implementation of new test equipment and protocols throughout our
    operations in Asia. You'll design and complete custom test requests by
    working with requesters to define technical questions; modify or develop
    test protocols to address the unique needs of a specific test request;
    and complete data analysis, prepare written reports and deliver test
    results. You'll lead small teams to address test method development and
    test process improvement projects involving other Global Test
    Engineering team members and representatives from other local and
    international Nike functions. You'll review and analyze routine test
    data collected by Test Technicians on routine test requests and direct
    additional testing if required. You'll identify changes to protocol or
    equipment that can improve test accuracy, repeatability, usefulness or
    reduce time and cost to complete tests. You'll have the opportunity to
    mentor summer interns and serve as the lead technical expert on their
    projects. In addition, you'll complete miscellaneous tasks such as
    conducting tours of the Material and Mechanical Lab, equipment
    calibration and repair, serve as a department contact for a Footwear
    Category Team and take in test requests.



    Requirements for the position include:

    Bachelor's degree with background in mechanical, civil, electrical or
    materials engineering, materials science or biomechanics

    6 years' work experience in test design, data collection, data analysis
    and equipment design and/or product development

    Master's degree in an appropriate field may satisfy up to 2 years' the
    test experience requirement if testing was part of the Master's program

    Experience in sports equipment testing or product development
    (particularly footwear) is strongly desired

    Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

    Ability to effectively communicate technical information to
    non-technical audience

    Strong presentation skills are desired

    Experience with PC based spreadsheets and word processing programs
    (preferably Word and Excel)

    Experience with statistical analysis software, LabView and AutoCAD or
    other CAD/CAM software is desired

    Experience with product testing, materials testing, experimental design
    and statistical analysis of data

    Experience with some instrumentation equipment (volt meter,
    oscilloscope, A/D boards, pressure sensors, potentiometers, etc.)

    Experience leading small teams

    Experience with footwear or sports equipment testing and/or production
    desired

    Basic knowledge of biomechanics is a plus

    Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (domestic and international)

    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
