    2007 Injury Biomechanics Symposium


    Abstract Submission Deadline Extended to: February 12, 2007

    Location: The Ohio State University, Columbus Ohio
    Date: May 21-22, 2007
    Abstract submission deadline: February 12, 2007

    The third annual Injury Biomechanics Symposium will be held to stimulate and reward strong injury biomechanics research among students and recent graduates. The Injury Biomechanics Symposium Committee invites abstracts of prospective presentations for the Injury Biomechanics Symposium. Abstracts are desired in all areas of traumatic injury biomechanics research, including human subject testing, sports injury studies, crash safety evaluation, and anthropomorphic dummy research. All selected presenters will prepare a written manuscript to be included in the symposium proceedings.

    ***All selected oral and poster presenters will receive a travel stipend and have their conference fees waived.***

    Abstract submissions should include the following information:
    1. A tentative title that clearly reflects the objectives and contents of the paper
    2. Author information (name, current affiliation, address, phone, fax, and e-mail)
    a. Primary Author
    i. State academic department and institution where research was completed
    ii. The degree program in which the student was enrolled (e.g. B.S., M.S., Ph.D.)
    iii. The name of the student’s advisor
    iv. Student’s graduation date or expected graduation date
    b. Additional Authors
    i. Do not need to be students or recent graduates
    3. An abstract of no more than 300 words containing:
    a. Clear statement of the objective of the study
    b. Outline of the problem that the study attempts to solve
    c. Methodology
    d. Data to be included
    e. Summary of results and current conclusions of the study

    From submitted abstracts, up to ten abstracts will be selected for oral presentations, and eight additional abstracts will be selected for poster presentations. All accepted presenters will be asked to submit a manuscript by April 27, 2007 to be included in the Symposium Proceedings. Notification of acceptance and further guidelines for presentations and manuscript submissions will be sent by February 19, 2007.
