  • Biomechanics Research Associate Position

The Legacy Biomechanics Laboratory has an immediate opening for a
research associate position. This position will provide an excellent
opportunity to conduct research in an NIH-funded, well equipped
laboratory that fosters close collaboration between orthopaedic surgeons
and biomechanical engineers. The Biomechanics Laboratory is an integral
part of Legacy's Level I Trauma center and is housed in the Legacy
Research and Technology Center, a 65,000 ft2 interdisciplinary research
facility, located in Portland, Oregon. It serves as a resource for basic
and applied research in the fields of tissue engineering, fracture
    healing and fracture fixation.

The successful candidate has a Masters or Ph.D. degree in an engineering
science, preferably mechanical or biomechanical engineering, experience
in biomechanical research and a record of publications in refereed
journals. The candidate should have organizational and interpersonal
skills and should enjoy collaboration with clinicians, scientists and
trainees. Familiarity with implant design and implant testing would be
advantageous. Depending on qualifications, responsibilities will include
independent conduct of research, testing, and result publication, as
well as design of orthopaedic implants. No teaching commitments will be
required. This will be a full-time appointment with salary and starting
date negotiable. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and
experience. Further information on research at the Legacy Biomechanics
Laboratory can be obtained at www.biomechresearch.org
. To submit your application, please
forward a CV and at least three references who can evaluate your
    qualification to mbottlan@lhs.org.
