The Company - Corin Ltd was founded in 1985 and is based in Cirencester
(Glos, UK). The company designs, manufactures and supplies orthopaedic
devices worldwide specialising in hip, knee and spinal prostheses for
the young, active arthritic patient. Corin has been associated with some
of the most important developments in orthopaedic implant technology in
the last 20 years. From true mobile bearing knees to the pioneering work
carried out on modern metal-on-metal hip resurfacing and total hip
replacement, the company now has a reputation for innovative technology
aimed at restoring quality of life to the younger, active patient.
The job - Surface engineering and coatings are technologies the company
sees as being key to improving the performance of orthopaedic devices
both in terms of osteoconductive surfaces for secure bone fixation and
low wear bearing surfaces. This two year project will allow the company
to build its understanding of these technologies and processes to
optimise the performance of its orthopaedic devices. Candidate Profile
It is essential that you have a 1st, 2.1 honours or higher degree in a
relevant discipline, such as materials science or mechanical
engineering. A relevant research background would be advantageous,
particularly in medical engineering, tribology or coating technologies.
Prior industrial experience, either post-graduation or through an
industrial placement, would be beneficial You will need good
interpersonal skills and the ability to work across all levels of an
organisation dedicated to providing products and services that
consistently satisfy the needs and expectations of both its direct and
indirect Customers. Furthermore, you will need to demonstrate the
capability of developing into an excellent project manager and organiser.
Salary Range is 22 - 25,000 GBP pa depending on qualifications and
experience and the reward package includes an additional 3500 GBP
personal training and development budget, which includes the opportunity
to study for a higher degree.
