    Associate Professor/Professor Physical Medicine Institute
    Research Director, Osteopathic Heritage Foundation Physical Medicine Core Research Facility
    University of North Texas Health Science Center
    Fort Worth, Texas

    Seeking successful researcher with leadership skill and experience to oversee growth and development within the Physical Medicine Institute at the University of North Texas Health Science Center as well as manage a new Human Performance (Biomechanics) Laboratory. An ideal candidate will have active federal funding and a strong desire to lead, collaborate, and teach in the areas of basic science and clinical biomechanics research. Successful applicants will benefit from association with a dynamic interdisciplinary university with strong administrative support for physical medicine as a campus-wide priority research focus.

    ORGANIZATION AND FACILITIES

    The Physical Medicine Institute includes the national Osteopathic Research Center with a focus on manipulative (manual) medicine research and education, and the Bone and Joint Research Center with a focus in orthopedics and rheumatology research and education. The Physical Medicine Institute (PMI) represents a collaborative partnership between the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM), the Department of Rheumatology and the Department of Orthopedics at UNTHSC. These three medical specialties are working together to advance scientific knowledge of all aspects of human physical medicine. The Physical Medicine Institute has a core research facility under construction including a state-of-the-art human performance laboratory.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Faculty appointments are available in the Physical Medicine Institute ranging from associate to full professor. Candidates must hold a Ph.D., M.D., D.O. or equivalent doctoral degree and have five years of previous faculty experience. A successful applicant should have established research funding, publications, and experience working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary academic environment. Qualified candidates should attach a letter describing their research, teaching and, if applicable, clinical interests and experience together with a recent curriculum vitae with the names of three potential references.
