    Graduate Teaching Assistantship in Kinesiology at the

    University of Texas at El Paso


    The Department of Kinesiology at the University of Texas at El Paso is
    seeking applicants for one-year renewable Graduate Teaching
    Assistantships. Four positions are available for students interested in
    obtaining their Masters of Science in Kinesiology with specialization in
    Pedagogy of Physical Activity or Exercise Science.

    Date of Appointment: September 1, 2007

    Qualifications:

    Must be eligible for admission to the Graduate School. Admission
    requirements are:

    1. An undergraduate degree in Kinesiology or a related field from
    an accredited institution with an overall GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0
    scale.
    2. Demonstration of academic achievement and potential as indicated
    by the results of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and upper level
    undergraduate and/or graduate coursework.
    3. TOEFL score of at least 100/250/600.
    4. Other evidence of background and experience that may be
    available.

    Teaching experience preferred.

    Position Description:

    Teach undergraduate laboratories related to biomechanics, exercise
    physiology, fitness programs, or coronary intervention for no more than
    20 hours per week. The TA works closely with the faculty member in
    charge of the course. Assist faculty and students in conducting
    research, maintain the laboratories, and assist faculty with other
    classes.

    General Information:

    The University of Texas at El Paso has approximately 19,000 students,
