Postdoctoral fellowship in modelling of bone mechanobiology

The Biomaterials and Biomechanics research group of the Technical
University of Catalonia (Barcelona, Spain) within the Bioengineering
Institute of Catalonia focuses its research in the development of
biomaterials and computer simulations of in vitro and in vivo testing
for tissue engineering. The group is currently offering a research
position at PostDoc level to work on the development of multiscale
techniques to study bone mechanobiology through computer modelling. The
candidate will work on the modelling of rapid-prototyped scaffolds for
bone tissue engineering and the simulation of extracelular matrix
formation within the scaffolds. The fellowship is offered for a period
of one year with possibility of renewable. The candidate is expected to
    start as soon as possible.

    Requirements:
We are looking for outstanding bioengineer or mechanical engineer at the
PostDoc level. The group aims at research at the highest international
level. Priority will be given to candidate with experience in computer
modelling and numerical techniques in biomechanics. Supervision of
undergraduate and postgraduate students will be expected.

Applicants should send a cover letter stating their suitability for and
reasons of interest in the position, together with a full CV, including
the list of published work and contact details of referees by email at
    Dr. Damien Lacroix (damien.lacroix@upc.edu).

The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is a vertical
institute aiming to develop multidisciplinary research of excellence,
from basic research to medical applications, in the biomedical
engineering field. IBEC focuses its activity on six research programmes
related to cellular biotechnology; nanobioengineering; biomechanics and
    cellular biophysics; biomaterials, implants and tissue engineering;
signals and medical instrumentation; and robotics and biomedical
imaging. The research environment in life sciences in Barcelona is
excellent with international centres of excellence in biomedical
research and powerful technological facilities. IBEC was established in
2005 by the Government of Catalonia, the University of Barcelona and the
Technical University of Catalonia and is located at the Barcelona
Science Park. More information can be obtained at: www.ibecbarcelona.eu
