  • Looking for some information!

    Dear All,

We are looking for some data to specify the area which is actually reachable for the swing foot during gait. We guess the area should be semi-circular shaped and its radius should depend on the leg-length. But we don?t have any idea about the actual relationship as well as the possible cross-over angle for the swing foot (the angle between the swing and the stance foot, when the swing foot crosses over the stance foot to land on the ground). Clearly we can calculate these specifications for the static case when (the person is standing) using some anatomical characteristics. But during gait the constraints change and thereby the area which is reachable for the swing foot will change.
Does any one has any idea how we can calculate or model the reachable area during gait? Any recorded data in this regard or any literature?

    Many thanks and

    best regards
