    Performance Enhancement Section

    We are looking for three sport biomechanists to join our international
    team in the Performance Enhancement Section in Aspire. The main tasks
    will be to provide biomechanical support services to different sports
    and to develop / introduce new methodology to monitor and enhance
    athletic performance. Additional task will be to support applied
    research in these areas.

    Aspire is Qatar's visionary Sports Academy, which launched its academic
    curriculum in September 2004. The Academy will discover the best young
    sporting talents from the region and around the world, and make them
    world class.

    Biomechanics is one of the areas in the Performance Enhancement Section
    in Sports Department. We are providing support for the main sports in
    Aspire (Football, Athletics, Squash, Table Tennis and Sailing) and also
    for individual athletes in other sports. We offer international
    innovating working environment and unique state-of-the-art facilities.
    Aspire Dome, the largest indoor sports facility in the world, covers
    athletics track equipped with Kistler force plates and SIMI motion
    analysis system, full-size football pitch and various multi-purpose
    halls offering excellent possibilities for sport biomechanics. In
    addition, we have separate lab areas for motion analysis (Vicon system
    with Kistler force plates), strength and power testing and
    anthropometric measurements (incl. laser body scanner). The other
    systems in use include novel (GmbH) pressure distribution measurement
    system, Phoenix optical tracking system and various timing and speed
    measurement devices.

    For the applicants, a degree in sport science or other related
    discipline and experience in applied field of biomechanics (servicing
    sports, research etc.) is required. Any expertise or experience in
    computer programming or technical expertise is an advantage. The
    applicants should also have good oral and written English language
    skills. In addition to this opportunity to work in a unique environment
