Department of Sport, Health & Exercise Science, University of Hull
** MSc Research Studentship in Clinical Biomechanics**
Highly motivated students interested in pursuing an MSc degree by research
in the Department of Sport, Health & Exercise Science at the University of
Hull are invited to apply. We are looking to appoint a new research student
in Clinical Biomechanics ideally from 1 July 2007 or soon thereafter.
Tuition fees will be paid at the UK rate by the Department of Sport, Health
& Exercise Science for one year, full-time, with the possibility of
assisting with teaching in the Department to support some living costs.
The appointed student will participate in a research project in part funded
by The Royal College of Surgeons of England investigating the effect of
intervention on balance in older patients with claudication.
Applicants should have at least a 2.1 honours degree (or predicted) in an
appropriate Sport Science, Engineering or other related discipline with
specific experience of biomechanics and posturography. Previous research
experience with the Neurocom Equitest and/or three-dimensional motion
    capture would be desirable assets.
The Human Performance Laboratory in the Department of Sport, Health and
Exercise Science is equipped with a 20-camera, high speed motion analysis
system, three force platforms, EMG system, isokinetic dynamometry and
    equipment for dynamic posturography.
    Please direct informal enquiries to:
    Natalie Vanicek N.Vanicek@hull.ac.uk
    Dr Patrick Coughlin patrick.coughlin@hey.nhs.uk

Formal applications should be sent in hard or electronic format, enclosing a
full CV and cover letter to
