Full-time Permanent
Duties: Reporting to the DPSC Executive Director, the incumbent will be a
part of the DPSC Executive Team responsible for the leadership and growth of
the DPSC. This involves co-management of the Centre in relation to program
delivery, promotion, marketing, and strategic planning. The incumbent will
be primarily responsible for the management and administration of the
on-going programs in exercise therapy and wellness services including
corporate wellness health. This includes all aspects of program operations:
planning, budgeting, development, promotion, delivery, staffing, and program
evaluation. Duties include:

Responsible for the coordination of the Exercise Therapy Program, which
includes cybex programs, conditioning classes and comprehensive health
assessments
*
Review and, if necessary, revise current testing protocols for all health
assessments and occupational testing and perform assessments as required
*
Development and promotion of Elite Athlete Services testing and training
programs both inside and outside the university community. This will
involve development and delivery of elite athlete testing and training
protocols, marketing of services, web page updates, and generation of
external contracts related to provision of these services
*
Provide ergonomic and workplace wellness programming to existing clientele.
If new contracts are developed, this position would be responsible for
budgeting, negotiation and writing of contract and program delivery. (i.e.
corporate wellness health)
*
Collaboration with community partners related to the development and/or
offering of various corporate wellness programs
*
Responsible for presentations and/or teaching sessions related to exercise
therapy or wellness programs
*
Committee work within the Faculty, Centre, and the corporate community
*
Assist with the coordination of research and information systems for the
Centre. May assist with the development, enhancement, or modification of
data systems and/or the DPSC website.
*
Supervise Assistant Consultant staff responsible for program delivery.
Provide mentoring to Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies fieldwork
students. Assist with supervision and/or guidance of DPSC support staff.
*
Work on a variety of DPSC initiatives with other staff as required
Requirements: Qualifications for this position include an undergraduate
degree in Kinesiology or equivalent with a Masters degree and some research
experience preferred. Certification as a Certified Strength and Consulting
Specialist (CSCS) and as a Professional Fitness and Lifestyle Consultant
(PFLC) is required; other appropriate professional certifications such as
Certified Fitness Consultant Course Conductor, Ergonomic Evaluator
Certification, CPR/FA Instructor Certification are highly desirable; two or
more years experience in developing and implementing exercise prescription,
testing protocols, and/or metabolic testing on athlete populations;
experience in the administration and development of programs in wellness &
lifestyle health required; experience with bio-medical measurement equipment
and instruments. Essential skills and abilities include demonstrated
computer capabilities (experience and knowledge of networks and statistical
software packages, as well as in-depth knowledge of Word, Excel, and Access;
the ability to to use complete data management or office management
systems); the ability to develop new and innovative programming, good time
management skills, proven leadership, guidance, and evaluation ability,
excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work and
flourish in a team environment.
