  • Energy expense measures during walking

    Dear Colleagues,

I am interested to hear your experiences of functional / physiological
energy expenditure measures during normal and pathological gait,
particularly the Total Heart Beat Index (THBI) and Physiological Cost Index
(PCI). Do you currently use either of these clinically? Are you building a
normal database? Have you conducted in-house trials to assess the
performance of these tests? I am also interested in comparing protocols and
to hear if you have used or assessed these tests to monitor rehabilitation
progress. A summary of responses will be posted unless otherwise requested.

    Many thanks

    Graham
